Not Just Scrappin’ Around: Eaglestone’s War on Trash

IMG_9910_croppedAs the #1 trash-producing country in the world, the U.S. generates 40% of the world’s waste, yet there is so much each of us can do to help. At Eaglestone, we’ve taken multiple steps to minimize our carbon footprint.

As a manufacturer of conveyors and equipment for the food production industry, we go through our fair share of steel, stainless steel and other metals. Throughout our manufacturing process, we accumulate a lot of scrap metal and chips that we recycle through a local scrap metal processor and recycling company, ACME Scrap.

Most recently, we’ve teamed up with Flood Brothers garbage disposal as our primary trash and recycling provider. Flood Brothers works to ensure that 70% of trash and all recyclable materials stay out of landfills and are recycled properly.

In our continuing effort to go green, Eaglestone is working to reduce paper usage as much as possible. Starting January 1, 2015, we began saving trees by switching to electronic invoices instead of paper statements, and will be working toward electronic payroll in the very near future. This will dramatically change our paper consumption habits for less waste and more trees saved.

The goal of our campaign is to protect the environment and be a more ecologically responsible company. With these efforts, we hope to make Eaglestone a company that sustains natural resources for future generations to come.
