The Eaglestone team understands the importance of providing safe, healthy food to everyone through our work with the food production industry. Our care goes beyond the conveyor, though, to the local communities, where some of our employees are volunteering their time to get food to those in need.
Eaglestone Director, Dave Summers, along with Ashly Villanueva, Mark Villanueva, and the rest of the Summers family volunteer at the Northern Illinois Food Bank to help unload trucks and pass out food one Saturday every month and have been doing so for the past ten years.
The Northern Illinois Food Bank provides nutritious meals to more than 71,000 hungry neighbors across 13 counties each week. Their goal is to solve hunger so that no one goes hungry in northern Illinois.
Beyond giving their time, Eaglestone held a food drive where employees donated $600 worth of food for the food bank. These donations will go towards the nearly 600,000 people each year that rely on Northern Illinois Food Bank.
Members of the team also worked with the Toys for Tots program this past weekend through the food bank. These Eaglestone employees helped at a local church to hand out toys and food to make the holidays a little brighter for families in need.
Each year, we strive to make a difference in our community. Whether it’s individuals or our company as a whole, we know that giving, large or small, can change a life for the better.
